Same Problem here.
Can't install Magento via composer since (at least) yesterday morning (May, 21. around 9:00 am CEST).
Also The Magento Repo, Devdocs and some other sites were not reachable from here (germany) and displayed what I thought is a maintenance page.
I also had some responses from the repo, telling that the /packages.json File cannot be downloaded. They don't seem to happen anymore by now.
By now, when I execute
composer create-project --repository=https://repo.magento.com magento/project-community-edition
it's installing 2.0.5 for some reason and 2.0.6 cannot be found (when I force it)
after downloading the project package it fails with the following error message:
[Composer\Downloader\TransportException] Invalid credentials for 'https://repo.magento.com/archives/magento/project-community-edition/magento-project-community-edition-2.0.5.0.zip', aborting.
The credentials are 100% correct, I am using them now since M2 release and never had problems or changed them.
Also trying to install sample data on an instance created from the github repo 2.1.0-rc1 fails because it cannot find any of the sample data packages in the repository

Error still exist.
I installed many products with composer and I never had issues.
Yesterday I was not able to download Magento.
It is not acceptable when server is down without notice about problem or scheduled maintenance.
Magento website has a problem with SSL certificate. I had to add exception in my browser.
Problem with composer exist too long and don't fixed.
Nobody need our private credentials to reproduce error.
It is easy as 123. Just create new auth pair and try to install Magento.
if anyone is wondering, it's confirmed now: https://twitter.com/MagentoDevDocs/status/734365283658387456
Hi guys,
Same problem here:
1. Magento sites were in maintenance mode yesterday. They're now accessible for me. I can log in to my marketplace account and see my keys (and generate new ones).
2. However, when I try to start the setup wizard process to upgrade to 2.0.6, Magento tells me "Bad Credentials". I also tried to log in directly into https;//repo.magento.com and the same happens. I tried creating new keys but that didn't work either.
It looks like this is a known issue. What's the best place to get updates about this? This one?

There was a site problem that has been rectified. I don't have more details handy, but please try again and let me know if you are still having problems.
Hello,
I'm still having the problem. Via Web Setup Wizard I'm getting a 500 error and a white screen.
If I go through ssh composer update it says that my username isn't corrrect??
Kind regards,
Kris
Sorry I got behind then on extended leave - is this resolved now? I assume so as I am not hearing any other reports of problems.
