License for Community Version

Guys -

I have installed Magento Software (magento-1.7.0.2.tar) recently. I just want to know whether I have to purchase any license for this or not ..may be after a month or two. 

I don't want my company to face any software compliance problem that might arise in future. Though I am using it just for testing. I am not selling any product on the site.

The Magento community edition is free. You don't have to pay for it or get an additional license.

Yes, as Brent as said, Community Edition is free. There is a paid Enterprise Edition and there are a mix of free and paid extensions. But Magento Commerce (the company) makes Community Edition available free of charge to the community.
