Magento 2 front & backend returning 404 error after installation - xampp

after successful installation magento is throwing 404 error on frontend as well as backend .htaccess file is in /root directory I also moved pub/.htaccess to see whether it works as mentioned on stackenghange. please suggest a solution :"(

Try to run following command on Magento root.

php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy

haa! thank you so much (": got it fixed already by changing Apache
environment. I'm using wamp now and its working perfectly fine!
again, thank you so much magento community. its always fun to work on
magento, its kinda challenging but its awesome!
