Category display in navigation bar

Hi,

I was used to Magento Platform 1.14 where we could select which categories to display in navigation bar as well as sub categories.

I would go in each category page in Magento and select whether it would be visible in navigation etc.

I am now working on Magento 1.9.2 but it seems it doesn't work the same way anymore - I have tried to see if its due to an extension but doesn't seem like so (new website & company).

Any advice of where this can be changed?

Many thanks

@mctops Yes there are some modification om previous old and 1.9.2 version. I believe you want to show categories into navigation bar, if so you need to do below settings:

1. Create sub categories of your root category.

2. Set "Is Active" as Yes

3. Set "Include in Navigation Menu" as Yes.

Cheers

Re: Category display in navigation bar

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

Indeed, that's how I used to do it with the previous version but it doesn't seem to work the same way with this one. Ex - most categories are set to "No" in "Include in Navigation menu" and it still displays on live so clearly not working the same way.

Re: Category display in navigation bar

Thanks for your help - indeed I was flushing cache but not cache storage - once I did this, the modifications finally appeared.

Thanks!
