FTP instead of HTTP

Hello,

I have a Magento installation in a VPS with Cpanel. When I enter mysite.com in the url, the Magento website loads correctly. But when I enter www.mysite.com, the browser loads ftp://www.mysite.com, and it asks for the FTP password. Is it the .htaccess file? Or what could be wrong?

It could be one of many things. I would check the following:

• .htaccess
• VirtualHost configuration
• Magento base url (check from the database)
• cPanel redirects
