Google state I have to insert Google Analytics coding at the top of <head> what file do I need?

Hi, 

 

For some reason the Ecommerce tracking on our magento site has stopped working, even though I have returned everything to previous system. 

 

Marketing expert wanted to Google Tag Manager so I installed and Ecommerce tracking stopped! 

So I uninstalled and placed back in the Google analytics tracking. 

 

Anyway, I asked Google and they requested I inserted the Google Analytics tracking at the top nearest the <head>

 

I have never been asked this and on several other sites, I do not have this!!  

anyway, what file would I need to adjust to do this?

So literally insert the Google Script where it states 'My_script' see here: https://www.screencast.com/t/sSvxFrZH1cgQ

I have already tried Misc Scripts but Google states that does not place the script high enough
