Site down after backup started via Magento Admin

Site down after backup started via Magento Admin

I used the backup section of our store on Magento community edition to back up. The site is showing in maintenance mode even after 10 mins. Can't login to the Magento admin as well.

The site and admin both show:

Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

What do I do?

Re: Site down after backup started via Magento Admin

There are a few possible causes for this issue. First, you should check to see if the backup process was completed successfully. If it did, then you may have an issue with the server or the configuration of the site.

If the backup process was not completed successfully, it could be a server issue or a Magento issue. Either way, you should contact your web hosting provider and ask them to investigate the issue. They should be able to help you determine what is causing the issue and how to fix it.

If you are having trouble accessing the Magento admin, you may need to reset your admin password. To do this, follow the instructions in the Magento User Guide.

Finally, if the issue persists, you may need to restore your site from the backup. To do this, you will need to contact your web hosting provider and ask them to help restore the site from the backup.

Re: Site down after backup started via Magento Admin

If your site has gone down after a backup was started via Magento Admin, here are some tips to help you fix the issue:

Check the server logs: The first thing you should do is check the server logs to see if there are any error messages related to the backup process. This can help you identify the cause of the problem.

Stop the backup process: If the backup process is still running, stop it immediately. This can help prevent any further damage to your site.

Restore from backup: If you have a recent backup of your site, restore it immediately. This will help bring your site back online.
