Trigger email only one send with a subscription

We'd like to send trigger emails, but with a renewing monthly subscription, we don't what the customer to receive the same email  every time they get charged. Any ideas?

What system/process are you using to handle the recurring billing and the creating of new orders each month?

They are set up as:

Type - Bundle Product

Attr. Set Name - Package

And then they are monthly renewing under subscription plans
