can't log in to admin panel in CE 1.8

My boss just deleted one of the stores he created, (the newest and youngest out of 4 stores), and now ever since then, NO ONE is able to log into the admin panel dashboard. We've already tried flushing the browser cache, and using a different browser to try to log in, to no avail.......What happened?!?
