I haven't come across redchamps. One alternative that might work for you is https://marketplace.magento.com/amasty-stockstatus.html. It's an amasty extension so a vendor that is well known and the module itself has at least one 5 star review.
It's not just for coming soon functionality but it does mention that as a possible way of using it and looking at the features it looks like it could work.

an alternative solution you might want to look at is Magento 2 Out of Stock Notification Extension from ITORIS INC. It let you customers know when a particular product is back at stock.
