Cron error, unable to send stock alert emails

 Hi, new Magento user here. We have an extension installed that sends back in stock emails when an item returns to stock. It is not working and giving this error:  Stock Alerts No cron job "catalog_product_alert" found. Please check your cron configuration. What does this mean and how do I rectify it?

You're going to want to install this Cron Management Extension http://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/aoe-scheduler.html

It will help you debug the cron and find your error. You can always remove it after you've solved the problem.

What was wrong?  I have the sme problem, but not a solution.
