Server response time

Hi there,

My website consists of more than 25,000 products with images & other static & dynamic pages. When I checked in Google Pagespeed it says server response time is 3.8seconds which is too high so my ranking is also down. Can you suggest me a better solution to improve my performance & reduce the server response time.

Regards

Hari

Re: Server response time

if TTFB > 3sec  so you have to run Aoe_Profiler.

and you have to configure your server properly, from our experience every 2nd shop running on default installation.

Re: Server response time

Your store's Time To First Byte (TTFB) is over 3 seconds?

If that is the case, it is too slow and you will need to identify the slowdown.

As MagenX stated, try running Aoe_Profiler to catch the culprit for the slowdown and if your server is not fast enough, you may need to upgrade and optimize it too.

Re: Server response time

Thanks for your response MagenX & JLHC. I'm a newbie to Magento. Can you let me know how to run the profiler? Here is my site link : http://ultimate4wheeldrive.com/

Can you check & update me how to improve my site performance.

Re: Server response time

With that number of product I think you need a strong server enough to handle the database request.

Re: Server response time

You will need to dedicated server with cache include memcache/redis and varnish. It need expert about magento server configure and maintain. Check more about resource use from many request by using this https://www.pingdom.com/ . I think have to pay ~$500/month to run this fast

Re: Server response time

With that number of products I would be looking to host on bare metal and put some power behind it

Are you using Redis Cache backend for both Sessions and Cache this can and will make a massive diference to performance if you are not already using it, however if you are hosting on a shared platform then it may not be an option.

Also are you using any kind of Full Page Cache.

Re: Server response time

there is nothing bad with amount of products, i just not sure if this acccount is dedicated or shared hosting, there are 5 more sites configured on the same IP,  if there is any room left for optimization?

if you have access to linux shell and mysql settings and php configuration , then you need to start with

MySQLTuner

if you dont have access and ability to change your servers settings, then i guess the only option you have is LestiFPC

cheers

Re: Server response time

I have a site that we are getting ready to launch, but we have some performance concerns. We have a fairly complex hosting environment which is mandated by my client's corporate policies: AWS, load balanced, Alert Logic handling https, Cloudfront CDN.

We tried to install Varnish and failed. We could only get it to run when we turned off https which is not an option. Are you available to work as a consultant and help us through the configuration process?

Best regards,
