Auto-focus form on page load even with VarienForm 2nd parameter set to false

Hi,

I've got a template to create a newsletter subscription field and I've created my form using: 

var newsletterSubscriberFormHeader = new VarienForm('newsletter-validate-header', false);

Even with the second parameter set to false it always focuses it on page load.

Can't seem to find what's the issue and the only solution proposed online is the set the second parameter to false which is already done. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I already tried commenting out the $("#newsletter-header").focus(); part but the same result occured.
