Can Magento community be used for enquiries only?

Hi, 

I"m new to Magento, I've been evaluating multiple solutions for my project.

Quick question about the community edition.

How easy is it to modify Magento to only submit an email with the product list at checkout? No payment etc needed. Just a "send enquiry" button in the cart to send the cart contents to an email.

Need to customize or use some plugins, there is no direct functionality for inquiry form in Magento.
