Cart rule for quantity on grouped products

Hey guys,

Got a wee issue I wanted to run past you magento wiz kids.

Basically what I need to do is be able to discount prices by x amount for quantities that total over a certain amount for a grouped product. Problem im having is that grouped products are just separate products so I need it to be a total of each item.

So if I have 10 of x items and 15 of y items and I need the discount to apply only if x and y total more than 20 then I cannot seem to do that with the default cart rules.

Any ideas?
