Changing all products to "virtual" via .phtml checkout file ?

Hello,

We have products which only require email address , but the products are labelled as "goods" not "virtual" so the checkout process requests shipping etc.

Instead of me manually changing all products to "virtual" (10k+). Can I edit a PHP state in a checkout.phtml file to default checkout to "virtual" ?

Do you want to change the existing product type to virtual or any custom attribute (which has value goods and now you want to change it to virtual)
Please explain you requirement(via image if possible) so that I can help you.

We Need only email and products for order formation - then a Paypal invoice
is sent to customer where they provide shipping etc.

This renders the regular checkout on Magento not required.

I cannot manually update 10k+ products to "virtual".


*My options?*1. Update all to virtual via CSV
2. Database search and replace
3. Edit .phtml to default all to virtual
