Making an integer or decimal attribute filterable

Making an integer or decimal attribute filterable

Dear all,

I've been searching among lots of topics on Internet about Magento, but I haven't been able to find any answers to my concern, which seems to be very basic to me.

As for the price, we have an attribute for some of our products which is a number (integer, but can be decimal). We want to make it filterable, and if possible with the same ranges behaviour as for a price.

I can't understand why it can't be filterable, as it might be exactly the same process for the "Magento engine" (filtering numbers and sorting them).

Can anyone help us on this, or explain how it can be not possible to do it?
It seems really weird to me, unless there is something I can't get about Magento processes.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Making an integer or decimal attribute filterable

Dear all,

While waiting on advice, I tried something, which is really, reallly dirty to me, tell me what you think.
I re-created my integer attribute but, this time, I set it up as a price. Now I know I can remove the currency symbol from this "false" price in the front office, but I really don't like this trick.

Does anyone has an idea to make these attributes filterable?

Thanks in advance.
