calling configurable products's save action

I am creating configurable products and add associated products to them programmatically. After I create and save them, the simple products are shown under the Associated Products tab with my given filters. Everything is fine but, all I had to do is to press each configurable products' save button manually in the admin panel. Then, they are shown on the frontend. What do I miss? Thank you.

I am following this topic. I am not following it line by line but still missing sth.

What I noticed is that, the configurable product is "out of stock" until I press to save button (without any change) from admin panel.
