make special price lower for a period of time

Hey everyone,

In my store I always have a price and a special price. when i'm makeing some kind of a sale, i'm lowering the price even more than the special price. My question is: can I make the special price even lower than the defined price for a period of time?(like Special Price From Date X to date Y) and than when the date ends, it will get back to the special price that it had before? best regards, Hezi.

Is it many products that you want to do this with?

If its not many products, and its a fixed % discount, you can easly set this up with a catalog price rule.

doing it from catalog price rules is only if no special price is defined. but almost all of my products have special price.

therefore the rule doesn't do nothing.
