You can try to
1. Remove maintenance.flag file from Magento installation folder
2. Disable compiler of Magento
I removed maintenance.flag and my store works properly again
Hope this helps
I have deleted this maintenance.flag file but after that I am getting 404 not found error please help me
A friend of mine hired an agency to build them a site using Magento. It too, has gone into some permanent state of maintenance. Because it's built atop the community edition, there is no support from Magenta and the agency that built the site has shut down.
I'm a friend of the owner but not familar with Magento at all. I have a user login for the account but cannot find any repository or backend to investigate why the site is down.
Can you help me navigate these new waters or point me in the direction of someone (or a community section) that can?
Thanks in advance.
Frustrated Magento User.
Currently I am facing the same problem. Where can I find the "magento root directory"?
Thanks in Advance.
