SQL Error after patch

After installing several patches to 1.8.1, I receive this message on the homepage:

SQLSTATE[42000]: Syntax error or access violation: 1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '.`value)` = '0') AND (`start_time` <= '2016-03-25') AND (`end_time` >= '2016-03-' at line 2

 Any ideas?

Can you post the detailed error message for better clarity, I think the message you posted is truncated.

I replaced the app/design/frontend/base directory with a fresh copy. Fixed the SQL errors but then had to fix some more extension issues that arose with bannerslider, PureChat, and credit card processing. Thank for your willingness to help with this issue.
