When I tried isntalling patch one, I had only issue with Dashboard (hunk 91) error. SWF files were patching and no errors were shown.. But at the end the patch never installed due to this one Hunk 91.
Now, version 2 is out, Hunk error is here, curl error is there, and SWF errors showing.
I was able to install 8788v2 successfully on 1.8.1.0. I did not previously install 8788v1. First revert 1533, and leave 3941 alone or install it if you have not already. Then download the .sh file, put the file in a zip, then upload it to the root directly. Extract the zip, then run the patch as per Magento instructions.
Uploading the .sh file via FTP directly caused the hunk error which is why you need to zip the file to upload it.
I thought the whole point of the V2 patch was to not have to revert 1533
I run 1.7.0.2, and supee 3941 is for 1.8-1.9.... removing 1533 is not advisable unless you tried installing version 1 of the patch.
Note from magento developers:
NOTE: if you have installed version 1 of the patch, it is recommended to do the following:
They should provide SUPEE 3941 for 1.7 version so we dont enocunter CURL error.
I removed 1533 and it has now worked for me, seems like a silly thing to have to do, surely the patch should have looked for either original or 1533 patched code and applied itself.
Anyway I can finally rest now knowing it is fixed.
Thanks for this bit of advice autoharry
I was getting errors having followed all the steps from Magento.
Zipping the file before upload solved it.
Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble applying SUPEE-8788 on Magento 1.9.2.4
bash PATCH_SUPEE-8788_CE_1.9.2.4_v2-2016-10-14-09-42-47.sh
....
checking file skin/adminhtml/default/default/media/uploaderSingle.swf
Reversed (or previously applied) patch detected! Assume -R? [n]
Apply anyway? [n]
Skipping patch.
1 out of 1 hunk ignored
checking file skin/adminhtml/default/default/xmlconnect/boxes.css
however if I remove the 3 .swf binary diffs from the patch, it works fine. but you then have to manually remove skin/adminhtml/default/default/media/ (the patch deletes the 3 .swf in that folder)
PS: whats really weirds is, Im doing this in a Dockerfile and (with the original patch) builds fine on a Windows PC but fails on my Mac and on Linux
Edit: it doesnt have to do with Docker tho. I tried without, directly on the linux and mac host and its the same problem
Hi All,
An updated version of the 8788 patch has been released by Magento. You have to revert the 8788 v1 patch and then re apply 8788 v2 patch.
Please visit following url SUPEE-8788
Unable to get it to install on 1.7.0.2. There is no 3941 to revert. I reverted 1533 without issue. Still get the curl.php hunk fail at line 372 which won't let this install.
Please advise.
You cant revert SUPEE 3941 because its not available for 1.7.0.2.... The issue 1.7 users face is inability to install the SUPEE 8788 due to CURL.PHP error, the error is there because its looking for 3941 patch.... Very odd...
Magento Engineers, if you read this.
1. Please release SUPEE 3941 for 1.7 versions
or
2. Release modified version of the patch so we can patch without SUPEE 3941
