Checkout Registration - Email address not being picked up

Hi all 

I am using the one page checkout. 

For some reason, the email address field is being ignored for validation. I enter any email address, and it thinks the field is empty, i.e: 

Any ideas how to fix?

Hi @Marked13,

Did you check your Magento logs (system.log and exception.log) just to be sure there isn't some clue over there?

1. Which version of Magento are you using?

2. Are you using the default RWD or a customized theme or a buyed one?

I just realized that it was my own code causing the error....
