Error when trying to export products

When I try to export products I get this error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function getName() on a non-object in /home/website/public_html/app/code/core/Mage/ImportExport/Model/Export/Entity/Product.php on line 171

So when I select system/import-export/

Entity: Products
Export File Format: CSV

Two questions:

1- What Magento version are you using?

2- Have you modified the Magento core?

Sorry for delay in responding. 

The version is 1.9.2.4 and no I have not adjusted the core code, but I suspect the previous developer has!!
