Help updating my magento store

Hi there, I am the owner of a website using the awesome Magento 1.7.0.0 portal. My website person has moved industries and my website is in desperate need of critical updates as it is telling our clients it is not secure. I called Magento and asked for some references but the people I called told me they only do new websites. I want to keep my current version and just install all the patches needed. I am happy to pay someone to do it as I do not have the needed IT skills to do so, can you recommend someone who can install my critical patches needed? Many thanks for all the help

Hi @christiane_waldron,

Since that is an old version you'll need, for sure, to think on upgrade.

But in the meantime you should be abel to update and apply patches (my recommendation is to try to upgrade to the lastest version of Magento 1.9).
