Magento 1.9.2.4 Main Image won't change Iphone Safari Browser

Issue: main image won't change when pressing an alternate image thumbnail shown under the main image.

Viewport: Iphone safari browser

Magento version: 1.9.2.4 (recently upgraded) with RWD theme
