Hello! I am new to the forum, and did not set up our companies Magento store, and admittedly do not know terribly much about it.
I am however in charge of maintaining our online store until a new one is built in September.
I just logged on to our Magento and our UPS shipping Calculator is no longer working.
The following error shows up:
This is what we have in the admin panel:
http://www.ups.com/using/services/rave/qcostcgi.cgi
I already tired changing it to https - however that had no effect. When i try to go to the site i get this error:
UPSOnLine5%Missing ActionCode%6837
We are using Magento Ver. 1.2.1
Any help would be appreciated, I have been googling this and going through forums for 2-3 hours now.
@christina_fleagWhen did you saw it working last time? Did someone change it recently? Are you looking at test system or your live system? URL which you are using seems to be of sandbox. You need to configure UPS properly to make it working.
You may or may not be looking at the right website/store view configuration. Below is the link using which you can understand how it works and how it need to be configured properly. I would recommend please go through it and make appropriate updates in configuration.

Problem solved? Please give 'Kudos' and accept 'Answer as Solution'.
Thank you for your reply - It was working as of yesterday, and no one has changed it as far as I know.
I will look at the info you posted and see if i can figure out whey its not working any longer.
I have the same issue. Stopped working today and I"m on 1.5.1. Checked UPS error logs in magento and doesn't show an error in debug mode.
I found the issue. You must change the "gateway URL" in your shipping methods > UPS to: HTTPS:
https://www.ups.com/using/services/rave/qcostcgi.cgi
Soon as i did. It now works.
I did try that - changing to HTTPS and it was unsuccessful.
I think we may have found out issue.
UPS has updated their security requirements and the server we are using needs to be upgraded, as found in this article below:
https://www.ups.com/us/en/help-center/technology-support/data-security.page
The TLS must be 1.2 or higher and ours is not. I am going to get together with my IT department to try to resolve this.
Just to add to this thread, yes UPS has upgraded their security requirement to a minimum TLS 1.2 or higher. If you are facing any problem with this security requirement, you can opt for the StorePep Integrated Shipping & Tracking extension to show UPS rates at checkout, perform fulfilment and track shipments. This extension uses TLS 1.2.
