Magento's Product Search Not Working?

Hi,

I'm facing issues with my site not giving me the right search results. When searching for a product via the search box, the end result gives me a list of items totally unrelated to what I was initially searching for. I've followed all the steps outlined in this link: http://www.infigic.com/blog/magento-search-not-working/ but unfortunately, still nothing. 

Any help given would greatly be appreciated.

Please change admin configuration as follows:

Admin>System>configuration>Catalog>Catalog Search>Search Type>Fulltext save.

Now run reindex and check your results. Thanks

Hi @I_K22,

Also, please check once that on which product attribute, searching is applied. For checking the same, go to admin side -> Catalog -> Attributes -> Manage Attributes.

Here filter by Searchable parameter. Select "Yes" and search for attributes. Now you can check that on which attributes you search results are depending. So if you want to change then you can change it according to your requirement.

Thank you for the responses. I've applied all the steps you guys have outlined, but sadly I'm still being faced with the same issue. In regards to managing the attributes, what parameters are recommended to be checked in order for the search functionality to properly work?

Hello you can create a custom search engine for magento . Create this custom search engine and replace your default search engine.
