Please help:- catalog cache images is not regenerating

Magento version 1.9

PHP Handler :- FCGI

Hosted environemt:- Cpanel

The website main cache is regenarting without any issues [var/cahce]. But the catalog cache is not working and sites get broken after moving the catalog cache [media/catalog/product/cache]. 

Tried all type of permission/ownership combinations and even with 777 but no luck

htaccess removed from media folder but no luck

reindex/main cache flush but no luck

Please help me to sort out this issue, I am in dark.

My guess would have been permissions which is what you were investigating. What happens when you load the page, you get cache image URLs but they 404? Are all the directories in the path executable? Did you make the 777 change recursively from media downwards?
