Search and checkout broken after I asked developer to fix somthing

My admin config/system screen was blank so I got a developer to fix it.

Instead today I come home and see that these are broken :

1 .Search bar - Plumrocket search function does not work - just loads forever
2. Checkout > during checkout the "continue" button doesn't work.

3. PHP crap in the footer of all pages

Does anyone know what the developer has done? He is no longer communication. He claimed to be a Magento specialist but instead put PHP crap on the footer of all pages , broke things and is now gone.

So this developer , not only did he not complete the only task I asked - he has completely made things worse. This developer and the company he works for will go un-named , if they just disappear and don't fix the mess they've made then I will mention them. Unbelievable.
