Simple product unable to use tier prices

Ok, so I'm trying to add tier prices to a simple product but for some reason it wont let me.

The product price is $5.99

The tier are set to "wholesale" customer group with the following info below.

 qty: 50     Price: 1.99

 qty: 100     Price: 1.79

 qty: 150     Price: 1.59

Apply MAP: no

Display Actual Price: Use Config

then I click save.

When looking at the front end I don't see any tiers at all use the term "as low as $1.59" under the product price before you click to open the full product description page.

Did I miss something? Did I do to much? All I seem to find to correct this issue is checking for bugs in the code. But I don't think that's the issue as I was able to do it before.

Have you customized your list.phtml file? If yes how are you fetching product price on list page?

If you are getting correct price on the product details page then once try to reindex.

Then it should work fine for you.

I am really new to the program so I have no Idea how to customize my list.phtml file. Any links to learn how to do this would be great.

Also on how to reindex would be awesome too.
