Zend_Mail_Transport_Exception' with message 'Unable to send mail

I am unable to send out newsletters and transactional emails. The error shown in the exception log says:

"Zend_Mail_Transport_Exception' with message 'Unable to send mail."

Please can someone suggest what I should do to solve this problem?

I am using Magento 1.9.2.2

Did you configured the cronjobs correctly? http://docs.magento.com/m1/ce/user_guide/system-operations/cron.html

Also, are yo usure your server is able to send emails? Normally that error shows up when your server can't send emails.

Thanks Damian. The Cron job is properly set. I have called the host GoDaddy and they said the website is not sending requests for the server to send out the emails. Now I don't know how to make the website send such requests. Please do you have any idea?

I guess your server isn't able to send emails (because the lack of configuration).

Maybe you can try some module that allows you to use a remote SMTP (for example: https://www.magentocommerce.com/magento-connect/smtp-pro-email-free-custom-smtp-email.html )
