customers can not log in magento 1.9.3.8

Hello,

I had updated my page to the current version of Magento 1.9.3.8

I then went on with cart2cart and transferred the users, passwords and orders.

The page was based on a subdomain. I tested it thoroughly and everything worked fine.

Then I moved it from the subdomain to public_html and added the secure websites.

I logged in and tested. Fine.

Then I logged out of my test-customer account and tried to login. That does not work.

All "old" customers are able to log in with their normal password. Once they have logged out, they can not login again.

If someone makes a new account, they are confronted with the same problem.

So far we have checked nearly everything we could

It has NOTHING to do with the formkey, we have checked that, this is not causing the problems, the settings for that are correct.

we worked with this link here https://magento.stackexchange.com/questions/92886/cant-log-into-secure-ssl-magento-site-on-front-end...

but again, that did not solve anything.

If someone could please, please help and/or point us in the right direction, that would be more than appreciated, thanks in advance

Sabine

Re: customers can not log in magento 1.9.3.8

Hi @ceoltagael,

The new Magento 1.9.3.8 is a new instance?

In that case, maybe the encryption key is different?

Re: customers can not log in magento 1.9.3.8

Hi there,

not sure. I will forward this to my friendly helpers and see if this is a possibility.

I personally have no idea where to look at to be honest

the timeline was as followed:

1. building website on subdomain

2. upgrade to 1.9.3.8

3. migrating customers, orders and passwords

4. moving to public_html

5. activating https

Kind regards

Sabine

Hi @Damian Culotta

I can confirm that the encryption key is the same

Re: customers can not log in magento 1.9.3.8

Hi @ceoltagael,

Maybe there is a cookie restriction on the Magento's configuration?

Re: customers can not log in magento 1.9.3.8

where would I find this?

Re: customers can not log in magento 1.9.3.8

Hello @ceoltagael

Can you please remove all cookie of browser and try it again?

Encryption key contains into app/etc/local.xml file.

If it will help you then mark as solution.

Re: customers can not log in magento 1.9.3.8

@Sunil Patel

I have already done this several times

I have now set up a fresh installation and transferred the relevant tables from one to the other and surprise, surprise, it works perfectly on the fresh installation.

It seems to me as the "old" installation is somehow corrupted.

Now I have the daunting task of moving categories and products...

Re: customers can not log in magento 1.9.3.8

Hi,

Are you able to login into Admin ?

If not, Please check in database core_config_data about the cookie value.

Thanks
