we use a simple 1 language magento store
since a while we notice a lot of 404 crawl errors on google webmasters. It seems that quite a lot of our product pages generate an url key with random number at the end.
I checked each page and the real url key has no numbers at the end.
The worst thing is that on google search results it was showing these 404 pages thus when hitting the link it was generating a 404 page on our webshop. We had to manually fix each affected page in google webmasters in order to fix it, but its only a manual short term fix as new cases pop up.
My question: why is google crawling these wrong pages? why are these url keys being generated? they are unique...
Anyone with experience in this case and a solution to permanently fix it?
