Updated to 1.9 now homepage content has gone?

Hello everyone.

I recently updated a test version of our website from 1.7 to 1.9 and now, all the content on the home page has seemed to have disappeared completely.

Any fixes for this? I suspect that it's something to do with the settings and some permission issues but I'm not too sure.

Most common for it is that latest Magento versions have new security feature that requires merchant to allow custom block types to be displayed.Go to "System" > "Permissions" > "Blocks" and allow block name cms/block 

cms/block is default static block type, but for some reason it has to be enabled manually.
