After upgrade from 1.7.0.2 to 1.9.2.1

Since I did the upgrade to 1.9.2.1 everything seems fine but the final step of the customers order process - the order confirmation - does not work (hitting the button leads to a short gif turning an then the button appears again but nothing goes furthers).

Does anybody know how I could find out the reason for this (there is no error message).

Got it - it is my skin ... 

(the default skin does not produce this problem)
