Search Bar not working in 1.9.3.1

Well as the title says my search bar at the top of my website is not working. It doesn't return any results. However, the advanced search works perfectly. It just seems to be this quick search. I have been trying to track down the issue for the past couple days since Magento automatically updated me to 1.9.3.1 from 1.9.2.4

Any help would be appreciated. I have tried so many things that I found throughout the interwebs, but nothing has worked.

I found my answer. It was basically staring me in the face while I was searching around the internet. There was something called: Catalog Search Refinement in my Magento Connect. Uninstalled it like the person here: https://magento.stackexchange.com/questions/141040/upgraded-magento-1-9-3-0-from-1-9-2-3-admin-image... did and it worked for me as well.
