Updating from 1.9.1 to 1.9.3.1 - now the site is down....

I tried to upgrade my Magento site using Magento Connect.

This resulted in an error message and my site is now down.

Can't even log in to admin.

Does anyone know what to do?

Best regards

Sarah

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@shophopper.dk and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 500 Internal Server Error error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Hi @sflindt,

The first step is to check your webserver error log to try to understand which error 500 you got.

Last one is the generic message.

Can you check your Apache or Nginx error logs and share the issue message?

Same thing error log showed : error: file is writable by others: fixed permissions on index.

STILL DOES NOT WORK...

You know when you do an upgrade, with a good software company this is never expected!

Hi @firstdiag,

You said "still does not work" but is the first message to the thread.

Can you describe your issue or, maybe, can you start another thread if isn't related?

Re: Updating from 1.9.1 to 1.9.3.1 - now the site is down....

Same issue as above!

so I changed permissions to 755.

Still doesn't work

Service Temporarily Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.

Just terrific!

Re: Updating from 1.9.1 to 1.9.3.1 - now the site is down....

Upgrade to Magento 1.9.3.1 wasn't available through MagentoConnect Manager. This information was available in changelog: http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/m1x/ce19-ee114/ce1.9_release-notes.html#ce19-1931.

If you want to perform and update to 1.9.3.1 you'll need to do it manually.

MagentoConnect Manager won't work.

Hi

Did you do any backup before magento upgrade ?

Also can you check at your files for maintenance.flag? If you see it, pls  rename by maintenance.flag.off and check your site again .

Thanks
