Auditing Enabled Child Products with Stock / Identifying their Disabled Parent Products

Hi everyone,

I am wanting to seek some advice regarding how others audit parent and child products?

For example, situations can arise where there is a child product with stock (updated from an external system), though the parent product is disabled/needs to be identified so it can be re-enabled.

I am by no means a Magento expert and am wanting to see whether there is a better way to go about this than exporting product reports and needing to sort this out in Excel - thanks.

Hi There,

Sorry to say but exporting excel as per your requirement is not available at Magento for now,
But we do have option to create api for this,
With this API you can configure product management parent & child wise.

For any other queries you can connect me rakeshs@oscprofessionals.com

Thanks
Rakesh

Re: Auditing Enabled Child Products with Stock / Identifying their Disabled Parent Products

This is a common issue in Magento setups, especially when inventory updates are automated from external systems. One approach is to run a script or scheduled job that checks for child products with active stock levels and flags any where the parent is disabled. This can save time over manual Excel sorting and helps maintain product integrity across the catalog.
We’ve dealt with similar challenges while supporting clients through our audit firm in Dubai, particularly during inventory and system audits. Automating checks like this ensures nothing falls through the cracks, especially for businesses with large product catalogs.
