Automate Invoicing

Hi,

I know there is 3rd party application to enable the automation of invoicing orders.

I want to know why this feature is not part of Magento. I am using Magento Enterprise, so enterprise client usually have a high volume of orders.

Is there a good reason this functionality is not part of the core features ?
