Custom payment method is not showing if order above the gratuity amount

Hello,

We have installed an extension for our delivery company that comes also with a payment method - COD and also a shipping method. 

We are trying to find out why the payment method is not showing if the order is above the gratuity amount. In the extension configuration there isn't any field with this information. Can someone help us with an idea how we can troubleshoot this?
