Enterprise - Allow user to activate his account himself during register process by using a code

We run a B2B shop. Normally if a user registers a new account, he has to wait until it gets activated by us. But we also hand out codes in our catalogs so that customers can activate their accounts. 

Is it possible to add such a code input to the register form and set it up accordingly, or do I need to create an extension?

no such functionality exist you need to create a module for the same
