Error message showing on shipping

Hi,

New to Magento and wehave a question about setting up shipping.

We set it to be £4.50 and on the store front it shows fine but we also get a red cross ad a highlighted field next to it.

We are not sure why this is showing as it seems to relate to displaying an error.

Can you help with this.

I've tested again with a (almost) fresh installation.

 Then I've tried to buy something.

And then th final checkout step.

I didn't set anything else.

Are you using some 3rd-aprty modules.

Maybe you can activate the Magento's logs to see if there is some clue about the error? Did you get some error message on your browser console?

Hi Damian,

We are not using any 3rd party add-ons and the installation is pretty much a clean install ( few css changes).

We are not getting any errors via develpoers tools

When we switch the shipping off the "X" and highlighted label disappears so it is shipping related.

In that case I'm out of ideas. I don't know how to recreate the error so I can't search for a solution.

Hi,

After spending some time with our ISP we found the issue was being caused by a setting in the htaccess file - he said it saves the versioning and the file was read only so couldn't save it.

Also, the poor performance was causing a problem - now we have rectified this the site works fine
