Just wondering why the recurring profile functionality from Magento 1 is not present in M2. This was a major piece of useful functionality. I am missing something or is it now an Enterprise only feature?

This was dropped from M2. It wasn't particularly fleshed out in M1 (didn't work with most payment methods, had limited functionality for shoppers to edit and adjust after their initial recurring order was placed, etc.)

There are plenty of M2 extensions that can get the job done though.

No, you are not missing anything ! it is not available in Magento 2 even thought it is not available in Enterprise version as well.

Basically its completely removed from the Magento 2.
