Magento 2.4 Multiple Website or Multiple Stores

Hi,

I have a current Magento 2.4 installation and I want to have another store with different categories and products but share customer information, cart, checkout and payments. I want the user to be able to purchase something from either store at the same time, then checkout using a single cart and have the order confirmation email to go to each different store owner.

Is this possible by using either multiple websites or multiple store options?

Out of the box without any extensions or custom code - almost. You could do everything you described except combine multiple products from different websites into a single cart.

I was able to get things to work, but my client through in an obstacle.  He wants to have the cart and users shared but wants to have a user for the admin to be able to only see the orders for that assigned store/view.  When logged into the admin all the orders are there.  He would like to have a user only see the orders for that store and be the one that receives the notification for the sales.  With multi-site I can do that I think, but not share the cart and user data.  With multi-stores I can share the cart and the user data but the admin shows all the orders for both.

Any suggestions on a solution, maybe with a plugin?
