Minimum order for different Shipping Rules

Hi Community,

Can anyone assist with advice on setting a minimum order spend for different shipping rules/ promotions.  Eg. £x for local delivery, £x for Nationwide, £x for a promotional period etc... Is this possible using Magento 2.2.2 or is an extension required?

Would like a customer notification reminder to alert customers at checkout if they are not meeting these requirements, instead of the default shipping method option not showing.  Also is there such a thing for maximum weight criteria?
