spammers are creating accounts and are being listed in my "customers" list?

I've been getting something that looks like Chinese in my customer's list.

 I've gotten about twenty five so far. 

I believe they literally have to fill out the sign in form to do this. Does anybody know why people would want to do this?

@LivePureThey have different intentions. Some are checking there hacking skill, some wants to create their name in the market, some just bothers the Merchant and some ask for Ransom.

@NanthiniBest solution for the issue is to implement captcha on login/registration form. I would say have captcha on every form on the website. Apply all the security patches on your Magento website and keep your Magento updated. Make sure you follow Magento best practices to keep your webstore safe.
