Not sure if this is default behaviour but it's something we've been having an issue with .
We ran a sale over Christmas Day and Boxing day using catalogue prices rules to give customers 15% discount on a select number of products.
We set the expiry to 26th December but it appears that if the customer has logged into their account during that time and added the items to the basket but did not checkout then if they log back into their account after the sale has expired (27th) then Magento is still honouring the special price instead of reverting back to the original price.
