Re: Magento 2 Multi store Hosting

Hi,

Those stores will have to be set up under the same Magento instance and the simplest way to do this is on the same server. If you expect heavy traffic in those stores, you can move the database to a separate server or cloud instance and use a load-balanced multi-server cluster.

Hope this helps.

Re: Magento 2 Multi store Hosting

Hi Michelle,

Generally speaking, if you're setting up one instance of Magento Open Source (Community Edition) for multiple stores, you're going to do so in a single hosting environment.

With Magento, it's not unusual to have a cluster of servers, separating out your frontend, database, and other needs. However, for development purposes, a single server will very often suffice. You can later determine, based upon disk space, traffic estimates, and other data, if you'll need more servers. For instance, you might wind up with multiple frontend servers to handle your traffic load... but that's not a requirement for a multi-store.

What's typically most important as you get started, is that the hosting environment that you're using is optimized for Magento. Otherwise, you're likely to experience a lot of frustration and lost time. Whether it's basic configuration, security, or optimization for speed, there's a lot that goes into a successful Magento hosting environment.
