We have one VPS server right now running Centos (with WHM). We have several domains which our main domain is currently the site we are replacing. But the store is so large, we would not want to reinstall Magento 2 En. once our testing is done on another domain (on the same VPS).
Would it be possible to do the following. Get Magento 2 En working on domain_A. Then point domain_B to the same server directly as domain_A?
There are two easy ways where you can do this in your cPanel/WHM environment.
After getting Magento to work on domain_A, you can:-
1. Copy all the files and databases into the account of domain_B and change the Base URL from domain_A to domain_B.
2. In WHM --> Modify an Account, change the main domain of the account for domain_B to something else (like domain_C), then change the main domain of the account for domain_A to domain_B and finally change the Base URL from domain_A to domain_B.
I am not sure if this is still relevant, but I just wanted to mention a third option, which is probably the easiest:
Once you have the site working on Domain A, simply add Domain B as an "Alias" (aka Parked Domain) in the cPanel account of Domain A. You will then have both domains resolve to the same server directory and all you need to do is update the base url inside the Magento database. Alternatively, do it the other way around by adding Domain A as an alias to your primary domain's account and use it while testing.
